On October 16th, 2024, Piyapatr Busababodhin, a professor from Mahasarakham University in Thailand, along with three colleagues, was invited to our college for an exchange and discussion. The event was held in Room 315 of the North District Integrated Building. The dean of the School of Statistics and Data Science, Ping Weying, and Zhang Hua, vice dean in charge of internationalization, attended the event.
Ping Weying and Zhang Hua warmly welcomed Piyapatr Busababodhin and his colleagues and exchanged cultural gifts. They also took a group photo together.

​After that, both sides had a lively discussion. Piyapatr Busababodhin gave a detailed introduction of the history, location, college setting, and research achievements of Mahasarakham University. Zhang Hua gave a brief introduction of the history, faculty, academic achievements, and international exchange of our college. Then, Professor Piyapatr Busababodhin introduced his research group's studies and applications of statistical theory in fields such as hydrology, climate, water resources utilization, using numerous examples. Finally, both sides engaged in active and in-depth discussions on data sharing, scientific cooperation, and agricultural applications between Mahasarakham University and the School of Statistics and Data Science, and the Key Laboratory of Financial Data Science.

The exchange enhanced friendship between the two sides and provided valuable opportunities for thought collision and wisdom exchange. It greatly broadened the scope of work and research for both sides and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.
