Statistics overseas doctoral (level) training program

First, training objectives
In recent years, the pace of internationalization of schools has accelerated. Since 2016, our school has recruited a small number of overseas doctoral students each year. Combined with the actual and international development prospects of the statistical disciplines of our school, the overseas doctoral training objectives of statistics majors are:
1.total requirements:
Committed to cultivating perseverance, good moral character,professionalism,understanding of China's basic national conditions,friendship with China, and physical and mental health. It is capable of being qualified for teaching, research or management in institutions of higher learning, scientific research institutions, government departments and large enterprises and institutions. Statistical innovation talents.Through 3-6 years of training, doctoral students should have the following research and practical skills.
2. Specific requirements:
(1) Proficiency in finding and reading books and academic journals related to the subject, familiar with the latest developments in academic development of the discipline and major topics at the forefront of research,and have a good understanding of the basic theories of the first-level disciplines of the discipline;
(2) Familiar with the writing norms of scientific papers, able to independently complete the writing of English academic papers, and initially have the ability to conduct independent research;
(3) It is possible to independently open basic and elective courses at the undergraduate and master's level of the major, and to obtain better teaching results.
Second, the research direction

Third, the academic system and the length of study
Ph.D. international students for 3 years (1. Ph.D. international student program for three years, if necessary, can extend the length of study, the length of study is 3-6 years; 2. National government scholarship students in principle in accordance with the National Scholarship Council for the number of years of study, If the time limit is exceeded, the student shall apply for extension of the scholarship period or transfer to a self-financed international student in accordance with the regulations of the China Scholarship Council.)
Research requirements:
1. Paper requirements: The first author or the second author working with the tutor will publish in the publicly released SCI/SSCI publication (for online first online publication, subject to the academic committee of the college) one or more papers (including one) .The published academic papers must be the first signed unit of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics.
2. Question requirements: Encourage PhD students to participate in academic activities and conduct scientific research, and arrange as much as possible to participate in the research work of various subjects undertaken by the tutor or the subject.
Fourth, credit requirements and curriculum
1. Training session
The training courses for doctoral students in this major mainly include course study, academic training, opening report, and dissertation.
2. Credit requirements
Overseas doctoral students should complete at least 22 credits during their Ph.D., including: 3 credits for degree public courses; 3 credits for degree majors; and at least 10 credits for non-degree electives.

Fifth, Cultivation and assessment methods
1. Training method
The training method implements the tutor responsibility system. The tutor formulates the doctoral training program according to the “Administrative Measures for Foreign Students Studying in Foreign Students in Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics”, and is responsible for the guidance work of the international students during the training period.The tutor can be equipped with a tutor or a deputy tutor, a tutor or a deputy tutor to assist the tutor in guiding, writing, and writing the dissertation.The assistant tutor assists the main tutor in completing the training plan for the doctoral students studying abroad, conducting daily management of the international students (regularly communicating with the doctoral students studying abroad, understanding their learning and life dynamics), and assisting the main counselor in information communication (including with the graduate school and International Cooperation and Exchange Office for information exchange).Specific training methods are:
(1) The combination of classroom learning and social practice, the combination of systematic learning and specialized research;
(2) Focusing on self-study, adopting heuristic, R&D-style teaching;
(3) Teaching students in accordance with their aptitudes, giving full play to the personal strengths of graduate students, focusing on the cultivation of graduate students' self-learning ability, expression ability, scientific research collaboration ability and innovative ability.
2. Course evaluation
Degree public courses and degree-based courses and professional compulsory courses must be organized in accordance with the unified deployment of the graduate department, and the standardized classroom test should be organized and passed, so that the corresponding course credits can be obtained. The professional elective courses are based on the actual content of the teaching materials. The relevant regulations of the postgraduate department use classroom examinations or writing assessment methods such as course essays to conduct scientific and reasonable course assessments for students, and give course assessment scores. The assessment is reasonable and students can obtain credits for the corresponding courses.
3. Paper opening report
Thesis writing should read a large amount of information. To this end,the research reference list should be determined and read in a plannedmanner, so as to determine the topic selection on this basis. Overseas doctoral students should complete the dissertation opening report andparticipate in the doctoral degree before the end of the third semester.The opening of the paper will be reported.
Sixth degree thesis
1.PhD students must have the ability to conduct significant original research independently in the field of statistics.PhD students need to find a suitable tutor, and the writing of the thesis needs to be completed under the guidance of the instructor.
2.Before the end of the third semester, Ph.D. students are required to pass all the courses and complete the dissertation opening report at the end of the third semester. At the same time, they must attend the doctoral thesis opening report meeting.
3.PhD students should consult not less than 100 domestic and foreign literatures according to their chosen research direction and the thesis's subject requirements.
4.Students in English, the opening report and the dissertation are written in English.The title of the thesis and the abstract of the paper should be translated into Chinese.
5.Before March of the last year, PhD students should participate in the pre-answer of the doctoral thesis and modify the paper according to the opinion of the defense committee.Before May of the last year, PhD students should participate in the defense of the doctoral thesis.The respondent must disclose the results of his thesis to the public in an approximately one-hour response.After the defense is over, the defense committee will conduct a closed meeting to determine whether to approve the student's thesis.The paper must be submitted in electronic form that is acceptable to the graduate school.At the same time, four paper piecesmust be submitted to the graduate school.The papers are stored in schools in the form of electronic archives.
6.The defense and submission of the doctoral dissertations of doctoral students shall be conducted in accordance with the relevant regulations of the school.
