From July 4th to July 5th, the 3rd Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics Advanced Statistics Symposium and 2019 Actuarial and Statistics Seminar were successfully held in Jiaoqiao Campus of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. The conference invited 19 internationally renowned professors of actuarial science and statistics to give presentations, included Cai Jun of Waterloo University, Yang Jingping of Peking University, Lai Yongzeng of Laurie University, Zhang Lianzeng of Nankai University, Wenhua Hua of Central South University, Thuan Nguyen of Oregon Health and Science University, Pang Zhen of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Wang Guojing of Suzhou University, Central Finance and Economics University Chi Yichun, University of Waterloo Wang Ruodu, Illinois State University Xu Maochao, Hunan University of Technology and Business Ouyang Shisheng, Shanghai University of Science and Technology Guo Ming, East China Normal University Qian Linyi, Jilin University Han Yuecai, South China Normal University Yangzhou, Chongqing University Zhang Zhimin, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics Ling Aifan and Jiang Jiming of the University of California, Davis. Nearly a hundred teachers and students from other universities in the province and the College of Statistics of our university attended the meeting.

In the speech delivered at the opening ceremony on April 4, professor liu xiaoli, vice President of jiangxi university of finance and economics, introduced the development of jiangxi university of finance and economics in recent years, the development history of the department of statistics and the current situation of the faculty, and wished the conference a complete success. Subsequently, Changjiang Scholar Professor Peng Liang, Dean of the Institute of Statistics and Risk Management and the conference sponsor, thanked Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics for their strong support for the conference and wished the participating experts, teachers and classmates a pleasant life during the meeting. The opening ceremony was presided over by Ye Shaoyi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Statistics.

This seminar provides a useful interactive exchange platform for actuarial and statistical scholars at home and abroad. It not only facilitates well-known professors and scholars to show their latest research results, but also helps provincial actuarial and statistical researchers to keep abreast of current international frontiers, strengthen communication and cooperation and grow rapidly.
