Professor Ping Weiying of the School of Statistics was elected as the Vice President of the Seventh Council of the Chinese Society for Statistics Education

On July 21, the fourth council of the seventh session of the China Statistical Education Society voted to pass the change of the person in charge, which was filed and approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in August 2021. Professor Ping Weiying, the dean of the School of Statistics of , was newly appointed as the vice president of the China Statistical Education Association, and he also served as the president of the Young Economic Statisticians Branch of the China Statistical Education Association.

The China Statistical Education Society is a national first-level society. It was established in July 1990. It was registered and approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in November 1992. It is an academic social organization that conducts national statistical education research under the guidance of the National Bureau of Statistics. It is currently managed by the National Bureau of Statistics. Mao Youfeng, a member of the party group and deputy director, serves as the chairman of the seventh council of the China Society for Statistics Education.

The third president office and third council of the seventh session of the Chinese Statistics Education Society deliberated and voted to establish the Youth Economic Statistics Branch, and Professor Ping Weiying was recommended as the branch president. The establishment of the Youth Economic Statisticians Branch aims to further unite and contact young economic statisticians across the country, strengthen teaching and scientific research exchanges among young economic statisticians, promote the development of economic statistics, promote young economic statisticians to conduct research on the major work arrangements of the party and the state and actual departmental decision-making needs, and at the same time strengthen the training and exchanges of young teachers in economic statistics.
