On the morning of November 17th, 2022, School of Statistics held the simulation defense meeting of the International Cooperation Training Project for innovative Statistical talents in the digital economy era. Vice President Liu Xiaoli attended the meeting. Gong Meijun, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department, Dean of School of Business Administration Hu Haibo, Dean of School of Humanities Jiang Guohe, Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Statistics Tao Chunhai, and overseas returned Doctor of School of Information Management Han Jialin, attended the meeting. Dean of the School of Statistics Ping Weiying, as the project leader, reported the project at the meeting.

To begin with, Gong welcomed the participants and affirmed the research direction. In addition, he said that participants should actively put forward suggestions in the form and content of the report, which will enable the project leader adjust timely to fully cope with the on-site report.
Ping Weiying reported from four aspects: project necessity, training objectives, project feasibility and talent management of returnees. She proposed that the project conforms to the internal needs of the national strategy and the overall plan of Double Tops discipline construction, which provides theoretical and practical basis for cultivating innovative talents.
Participants exchanged their perspectives on the report.Liu Xiaoli emphasized that the content of the report should be concise and standardized to integrate the national strategies, social services and statistical disciplines.
In recent years, School of Statistics actively build international cooperation relationship by signing cooperation agreements with Chonnam National University in South Korea, Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, Quaid-i-Azam University in Pakistan, University of Maryland in the United States and Mahasarakham University in Thailand, etc. School of Statistics has done a lot of preparatory work for the application of this innovative project. This project is based on the development requirements of time and achieved disciplines cross-integration, which is conducive to international construction.
