On January 6th, 2023, the 11th National Congress of the Chinese Statistical Society and the 11th Council meeting was held in Beijing online and offline. Luo Liangqing, Chief Professor of the School of Statistics, and Ping Weiying, president of the School of Statistics, were elected managing directors of the National Statistical Society of China.

Zeng Yuping, chief statistician of the National Bureau of Statistics and executive Vice president of the Chinese Statistical Society, presided over the congress. There were 271 presentatives from the National Bureau of Statistics, Statistical societies of provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, statistical societies of sub-provincial cities, relevant professional statistical societies and branches, relevant departments, institutions of colleges and universities and enterprises attended the meeting.

The National Statistical Society of China is a national academic and non-profit social organization dedicated to the study of statistical science. It is composed of institutions and individuals voluntarily. The National Statistical Society of China closely followed the major strategic plans of the 20th CPC National Congress and promoted the work of the society, pooling its efforts and fulfilling responsibilities, contributing statistical wisdom and strength to build a socialist modern country in an all-round way. The National Statistical Society of China aims to improve the level of national statistical science, push the development of statistics and contribute to building the cause of socialist modernization with Chinese characteristics guided by Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the Theory of Three Represents, the Scientific Outlook on Development, and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
