On the morning of November 4, invited by the School of Statistics and Data Science, Prof. Yunbi An, Ph.D. in Finance from Queen's University and Head of the Finance Department of Odette Business School of the University of Windsor, gave an academic lecture on the theme of Environmental regulations, supply chain relationships, and green technological innovation in the lecture hall 414 of the North General Chamber of Commerce. The lecture, titled Environmental regulations, supply chain relationships, and green technological innovation, introduced the logical relationship between environmental regulations, supply chain relationships, and green technological innovation. The lecture was hosted by Mr. Sheng Jiliang, and teachers and students from the School of Statistics and Data Science participated in the lecture.

The lecture was divided into three main parts. First, Prof. Yunbi An introduced the main elements of the study. These are whether stricter environmental regulations on client firms can promote green innovation in supplier firms, how supply chain relationships can help client firms translate the environmental regulatory pressures they face into the effectiveness of suppliers' green innovation, and how various factors affect the relationship between environmental regulatory pressures and suppliers' green innovation.

Secondly, Prof. Yunbi An introduced the main variables and relevant empirical results of the study, elaborated the connotation of the variables of green innovation level of the company, environmental regulatory pressure, and bargaining power, and demonstrated the empirical results explaining the descriptive statistics of the sub-sample categorized according to the environmental pressure, the direct impact of the environmental regulatory penalties of the supplier's location, and the testing of the alternative mechanisms.

Finally, Prof. Yunbi An presents the main conclusions of the study. As the total number of environmental penalties in the location of the client company increases, the number of green patent applications filed by the supplier company increases, and the environmental regulatory pressure of the client company has a greater impact on the number of green patent applications filed by the supplier company, and when the supplier company is located in a region with a higher degree of marketization and a higher ESG rating, the spillover effect of the environmental regulatory pressure on the green innovation of the supplier company will be more obvious.

The lecture was successfully concluded with a strong academic atmosphere. Prof. An Yunbi's explanation and empirical analysis of the mechanism and relationship between environmental regulations, supply chain relationship and green technological innovation benefited the teachers and students, and triggered their in-depth thinking and discussion on related research. Prof. An Yunbi's suggestions on journal submissions, theoretical analysis and empirical interpretation gave great insights to the students and teachers present.
